LUFTKASTELLET's Kompilations Det lykkedes LUFTKASTELLET i 2002 at blive udnævnt til vinder af Nat & Dags pris for bedste bar og gentaget året efter i kategorien bedste klub med klubkonceptet SOCIOS udviklet i samarbejde med "morfar" DJ Kenneth Bager. LUFTKASTELLET har været synonym med den mest rendyrkede latinamerikanske Copenhagen Jazzfestival 3 år i træk samt tilvejebringelsen af Jazzkartellet med den meget avantgardesøgende danske jazzscene som siden er omdøbt til Club Loco der nu holder til på Stengade 30. Vores samarbejde med Kenneth Bager har siden resulteret i at vi har skrevet kontrakt med hans pladeselskab Music for Dreams om udgivelsen af 5 compilations heraf er de 4 udkommet og nummer 2 ligger som nr. 1 på Virgin Music Megastore hitliste foran Budda Bar 6. Luftkastellet 5 Luftkastellet 5 er det femte album i rækken af de populære kompileringer fra Kenneth Bager og Music for Dreams - og måske nok det bedste dokument i serien so far. Allerede længe før udgivelsen af Luftkastellet 5 har tracklisten skabt reaktioner og givet genlyd i det store udland. Og noget af forklaringen der, skal nok findes i den perlerække af ny, spændende og fremadrettet musik, som er samlet på dette album. Helt nye numre fra store etablerede navne finder naturligt plads ved siden af nye remixes fra nogle af verdens ubetinget største og mest hippe djs og producere. Mød bla. en hemmelig b-side fra legendariske Francois K, nemlig det smukke og bløde electro-ladede tech-house remix af Coldplay’s ”Talk”. Et nummer som bare bliver ved med at føre dig længere og længere væk. Eller hvad med Carl Craig’s remix af Delia Gonzales’ “Relevee”. På Luftkastellet 5 finder man også Róisin Murphy’s sprit nye nummer “Overpowered” (koncertaktuel i VEGA 21. oktober), Trentemøller’s ”Moan” feat. Ane Trolle (koncertaktuel i VEGA 1. & 2. november), Jazzbox med Ibiza-hittet ”Smiling” feat. Louis Armstrong, Badly Drawn Boy (Reverso 68 remix), Lulu Rouge’s “Bless you” feat. Michael Simpson og DJ Disses Ibiza-plage ”Break on through”, som er et fantastisk The Doors remix, der både kan holde et løssluppent dansegulv i et fast greb eller lægge grobund for det perfekte cruise i bilen op langs kysten. Med i overdådighedshornet af ren og skær god musik finder man også “Notes fall” (stort P3 hit) fra Liv Lykke, som i øvrigt er en vaskeægte stjerne in spe. Luftkastellet 5 producerer det ene fantastiske stykke musik efter det andet, hentet fra Music for Dreams’ ”alternative” forståelse af god og lækker musik. Et af de allerstørste kommer måske fra de Ibiza-bosatte berlinere Deep Dive Corp., som åbner albummet med det super catchy ”Shine” (nummeret var i øvrigt official festival song på Music for Dreams egen festival, Festival for Dreams i august måned ude på Docken i København). Men så er der jo også Reverso 68 remixet af Badly Drawn Boy’s ”Promises”, og Trentemøllers ”Moan”, og... Skal du imponere nogen med god musiksmag (dig selv eller andre), så er Luftkastellet 5 et solidt kort at kunne trække frem. Det er rigtig store og spændende navne, som har fundet vej til denne disk og hvert eneste nummer på albummet har sit eget liv og sin egen historie at fortælle. Der er intet fyld på dette lille mesterværk af en kompilering, som både virker til festen, i bilen, foran pejsen, på caféen og i flyveren på vej mod nye eventyr.

Luftkastellet 4 The eclectic style of the compilation series LUFTKASTELLET is a strong mantra within Music For Dreams. And the man behind – Kenneth Bager - has done it again with this fourth release of Luftkastellet: The huge spectrum of musical inspirations goes hand in hand and creates a wholesome of electronic moves. The selection shows elegance and a musical wisdom which you can’t miss. It’s sexy, rude, urban and sampled up. Again, high class electro, Detroit tech-soul and wicked dream a ways on dubby beats & - of course- you get essential new tunes for the dance floors. Luftkastellet number 4 is as spacious as spacious can be. Great names and big hits such as Nightmares on Wax’s ‘Sweetest’, Coldcut’s ‘Walk a Mile in My Shoes’, Kenneth Bager with the heavenly hot track ‘Fragment Four’ and Quentin Harris’ with his beautiful ‘Let’s Be Young’, which Pete Tong loved so much last year, are gathered with up & coming producers as The Nomad, Small World and the Swedish producerteam The Knife who blew the roof off with the electronic hit ‘Silent Shout’. And the same goes for, José González one of the present most popular singer/songwriters, who also is Swedish, represented here in a Finish remix. Furthermore Music For Dreams presents three of their own artists: Hess Is More as the first track you find on this compilation – with the sexy and sophisticated radiohit ‘Yes Boss’, Djosos Krost remixed by the great Austrian Parov Stelar ‘Straight Upfront’ – an original tech-dub with lovely vocal from Tuco getting housed up incredibly good. Positivity! And at last the English artist-group Frontera feat. Sophie Barker with ‘Everything Changes’. Frontera has made a hit for the popscene based on classical music and their skills in electronic beats. The romantic harmony and high-energy-tech fits so well together it makes you flow away on strings with Barkers beautiful voice backing up. Return to blue mental skies. Luftkastellet 3 Eclectic Danish down tempo selector of all things electronic, sun splashed and dubbed out - Kenneth Bager - serves up for the third time a wonderful mixture of all the vital ingredients in the chilled dish called : Luftkastellet 3. Since its initial release in 2003, the series has picked up a lot of momentum and has provided the music lover with delicate moods ranging from laidback sunny grooves, of both organic and electronic substance, over moody down tempo gems to Balkan- inspired orchestral wedding arrangements. The series roams boldly around in the landscape of new genres, some well-established, some barely defined, and as we have come to expect, this newest release - Luftkastellet 3 - dares to bring together a selection of carefully crafted flavours. Luftkastellet 2 Another summer is due to kick in for real and Luftkastellet right here in the middle of Copenhagen is already heaving which can be no surprise to anyone as it's situated right down to the Harbour of Christianshavn. For the second year running Music For Dreams have yet again compiled the soundtrack for this busy bar/restaurent where the Copenhagen hipster loves to hang and chill to summer dub grooves while sipping cocktails in the sun. Also this time around it's label boss Kenneth Bager who is givin' us his take on todays sophisticated chillout grooves with a twist and a shake. The CD opens with the soulful dubbed-out classic Midnight Marauders by A stunning track and for the first time available on cd in a dub version and just as last years Luftkastellet Vol. 1 was packed with nuggets and exclusives this year will be no exception. All 14 tracks are of pure magic made in electronica heaven and have been carefully picked out. Luftkastellet 1 If u say Copenhagen or if you simply mention Scandinavia with in comes to music, you can't help say cool north. Some of the best club music from Nu Jazz to house, electronica, club house and dance makes it likely that Scandinavia is currently one of the most creative locations in music.
